The Pines Vinduro 2024

The Pines Vinduro
23-24 March 2024

For our first event of 2024 we are kicking off at a brand-new venue on the banks of Lake Eildon. This is an area VERi has never been to before, and we are really excited. Get ready for The Pines Vinduro!

The Ride

The Tolmie Beards and their minions have been hard at work putting together two separate loops that you are gonna love.

Each loop is approximately 30 km in length. Loop 1 will be open on the Saturday from 12pm – 4pm. The second loop is also about 30 km long.

On Sunday riders will depart at 9am to complete Loop 1, and then have the option of riding Loop 2. Course will close at 3pm on Sunday.

"Steep" and "rocky" are the two most heard words when describing the course. Don't worry, this will be very much a vintage-friendly ride.

The advice from President Woody is to have good working brakes, and tyres that aren't too soft.

The Venue

The Delatite Arm Reserve, also known as "The Pines", is located on the shores of picturesque Lake Eildon. The area is well known for its incredible trail riding. It's about a three hour drive from Melbourne.

The event will start and finish at Taylors Camping Ground. The parc ferme, entry booth, scrutineering and medical base will all be here.

Camping is also available at the venue. It's basic, with toilets but no showers or other running water. BYO everything.

There's access to Lake Eildon, and some of the most stunning views to be found in Victoria.

Camping is free at this event.

Catering

A food van (The Horseless Cart) will be on-site at Taylors Camping Ground on Saturday and Sunday.

Food and coffee will be available as per below (times are approximate):

  • Saturday: 8.30am -2pm, and 5pm – 8.30pm
  • Sunday 7.30am 'til afternoon.
A photo of their typical menu can be seen below.

They will also do fish and chips, and schnitzels on Saturday night.
